BG’s Game of the Month for November 2018 is Darksiders 3

Gotta get back in time… ’cause we forgot all about our GotM for November! And man, was this a hard-fought win for Darksiders III.

On the dark side

Yes, it’s a month late (who’s counting?), but nevertheless we could not let November 2018 go by without a Game of the Month. And I for one am glad we didn’t, since this was a battle.

November was one of the biggest months for new game releases on the calendar last year, and that showed in our voting. One game stood just that much above all the others though, and it was THQ Nordic’s third Darksiders title.

The latest in the series is radically different from what’s come before, changing up the formula. Some have even called it “Dark Souls lite”. What’s not different though is the excellent setting, concept, and design, all of which came together with the solid gameplay to create the most memorable adventure of the month.

But remember I said that we had a battle for this one? Well we absolutely did, with a solid silver placement for none other than Tetris Effect.

November 2018 1st runner up: Tetris Effect

The newest in the line of Tetris games, that started way back on the NES is a gem. Not only does the title mix in classic gameplay and new gimmicks, but it also includes PSVR support. Placing tetriminos in VR? Sounds like a proper good time.

Honorable mentions

So those are out big winners, but the voting was pretty much right there with an additional two games. So they deserve a mention as well here in this story.

Garnering enough support among our writers to almost make it were:

Pokemon Let’s Go!

Hitman 2
