Kicking off a world tour at Gamescom, Deep Silver and 4A Games’ latest, Metro Exodus will indeed be playable on the show floor.
Exodus
“Until now, fans have only experienced Metro Exodus through our trailers and gameplay videos,” said Huw Beynon, head of global brand management at Deep Silver. “We want to give players the opportunity to get their hands on Metro Exodus before it releases on Feb. 22, 2019.”
Not bad at all. In fact, if you’re going to Gamescom, then you might want to make a point of heading over to play Metro Exodus. It’s the latest game in the Metro series, and easily one off the most hotly anticipated shooters of 2019.
The demo will give fans a taste of the newest realm in the post-apocalyptic Metro universe, an “autumnal forest”. This new locale will be free of snow, and seemingly safe for human habitation, making it an above-ground oddity on Metro’s nuclear landscape. Since most of the previous games took place in the subway tunnels under Moscow, that alone should make fans sit up and want to play. Because man does that shake up the format.
Gamescom will be the first place that you’ll be able to get your hands on the game, via Hall 9’s Deep Silver booth. It’ll be playable throughout the show, which takes place August 22nd through the 25th. After that, you’ll also be able to play the game at PAX West in Seattle, from August 31st through September the 3rd, and at EGX in Birmingham England, from September 20th through the 23rd.
And Deep Silver isn’t even done there, since it’ll also be appearing at shows beyond EGX, through the end of the year. You can check out the full list of where it’ll be playable right here.
