ReMIX has nearly the entire Kingdom Hearts series in two games.
Kingdom Hearts has easily got be one of the strangest games ever produced by Square Enix. And when you take their backlog into consideration, that’s actually quite an accomplishment. A bizarre mash-up of Disney characters, Square Enix characters and original characters, it creates a world like no other. One of the biggest problems with this, however, is accessibility. Countless games are spread across countless platforms, making getting into the franchise very daunting if you weren’t there from the beginning. HD re-releases, however, have been created to ease this over. 1.5 and 2.5 ReMIX were two such examples, both of them containing three games each. And as of today, it was announced that both ReMIX games would be receiving a PS4 release.
There have been eight main games to the Kingdom Heart series. The original Kingdom Hearts, Chain of Memories, 358/2 days, II, Birth by Sleep, and Coded will all be part of the ReMIX collections. Kingdom Hearts X and 3D Dream Drop Distance, are the only ones to not be included. They were 3DS and PC games, therefore making porting them difficult. I have always been interested in Kingdom Hearts, but never had much of a chance to experience it. I will personally be keeping an eye on this, and hoping that it will be worth the wait.
The ReMIX collections will be available for purchase on March 31, 2017
