Cloud City will be freely accessible for the weekend
Star Wars Battlefront deceived quite a bit of flak for its rather pricey season pass. At $50, nearly as expensive as the base game, many people thought that it was too much. EA, while not having fully won over fans, has taken steps to improve reactions to this. In December of last year, the Battle of Jakku level was made available for free. Now, the Bespin DLC has been made free for the weekend.
This is not the first time that EA has done something like this. The first paid DLC for Star Wars Battlefront, the Outer Rim, did exactly the same. Although it did not have 100% access to new content. The new game modes and maps could be used, but not the new weapons. It has not been announced if Bespin will have the same restrictions.
According to the calendar for events for the game, this will not be the only free trial for the Bespin DLC. September 12-18, it will be temporarily free again. Those who are unable to play it this weekend will have another chance then.
