If you thought PSVR wasn’t going to get a massive push from the platform-holder, you better think again.
The Oculus Rift might have 30 games in development right now, but PSVR has a slew of some of the biggest developers on the planet working away on games for the virtual reality peripheral. Some 230 companies, that stretch around the globe, currently plan to have games hitting retail that will play on the head-mounted unit, and that’s not including all the other games that are available on PS4, which should all work in the PSVR’s cinema mode (which basically makes it a TV strapped to your face).
Here’s a sampling of who’s already on board:
- 2K Games
- Atlus
- Capcom
- Devolver
- Double Fine
- EA
- Harmonix
- Konami
- Oddworld Inhabitants
- Sega
- Warner Bros
- WayForward
And that’s a reeeeeeaaaaaly small sampling –hit this link for the rest. With all that support, including some companies like 2K who’ve been wary of VR in the past, I think there’s little doubt that the PSVR will at the very least get support from the third-party crowd. Will the games be any good? That’s another question.
PSVR hits retail in October.
