Coming up very soon now, Fox’ all-new X-Files series is set to combine mythology and standalone ‘monster’ episodes.
Lots going on there, with plenty of little (and extremely brief) looks at the action that’ll be taking place on screen in the new show. And thankfully, most of it looks pretty awesome.
I have some mixed feelings though, on the mixture of the mythology (alien) episodes with the monster episodes though. I have to admit that I was hoping that the conspiratorial alien shows would be making up the bulk of the new episodes to further the core plot of the X-Files on the whole. This isn’t an unlimited series after all, and there’s only a set amount of shows in which to tell a new interconnected tale. So to have only a pair of mythology eps in place is definitely disappointing as a big fan myself.
Not that I won’t watch every one anyway, because I will.
The X-Files hits the air once again starting on Sunday Jan. 24, 2016 at 10:00-11:00pm ET (7:00-8:00pm PT), and then picks up once again on the very next day, on Monday Jan. 25, 2016 (at 8:00/9:00pm ET/PT)
