Back in the action is Bruce Willis, with his new film Extraction, set to arrive next month.
When a terrorist group kidnaps retired CIA field operative Leonard Turner (Bruce Willis), his son Harry Turner (Kellan Lutz), a government analyst who has been repeatedly turned down for field service, launches his own unsanctioned rescue operation. While evading highly skilled operatives, deadly assassins, and international terrorists, Harry finally puts his combat training to the test in a high stakes mission to find his father and to stop a terrorist plot.
I’m always in for a Willis actioner, even though the veteran tough guy doesn’t seem like he’s the main focus of this one as Lutz takes the central role. Although the first look at the new poster for the film, which you see to the right, does show both stars (Gina Carano too) pretty equally, so who knows.
The cast does seem solid overall as well, with Willis and Lutz joined by Carano and D.B. Sweeney among others. The description kind of makes it sound like an old school action flick too, which is a good thing by my standards. Might be a fun one.
Directed by Steven C. Miller, Extraction arrives in the theaters and on demand services on December 18th.
