Behold! The Son of Hellcock – Allen!

What if you’re a kind of wimpy, but otherwise regular joe, who just happens to live in a weird fantasy land and also sees the ghost of his departed dad… who was a vicious warrior. An angry vicious warrior.

Turns out, you get something like Allen: Son of Hellcock. One of the newest works coming from Gabe Koplowitz, artist Miguel Porto, and Will Tracy. You might not be all that familiar with the names, but you probably know all three of these fellas work.

Koplowitz is a writer and director for VH1, while Porto has crafted a gaggle of music posters, as well as educational books; he also teaches art. As for Tracy, he’s a writer on HBO’s hit ‘news’ show Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

As for the book, well, it’s as radically different than Last Week Tonight as you can get, but still looks pretty darn funny.

ALLEN: SON OF HELLCOCK, the comic book debut of writers Will Tracy (Last Week Tonight with John Oliver) and Gabe Koplowitz, with artist Miguel Porto, will be released this December from Z2 Comics. Title character Allen is cowardly, directionless, and less physically menacing than a daffodil. He’s also the only son of the mightiest hero ever to plunge his sword hilt-deep into the dark heart of evil… the mighty HELLCOCK! Enjoy the ride as Allen is thrust sword-first into a not-so-classic fantasy quest that, frankly, he would rather just sit out.

Weird, filled with humor and classic themes turned on their heads, Allen: Son of Hellcock #1 arrives this December.

About Jason Micciche

Jason's been knee deep in videogames since he was but a lad. Cutting his teeth on the pixely glory that was the Atari 2600, he's been hack'n'slashing and shoot'em'uping ever since. Mainly an FPS and action guy, Jason enjoys the occasional well crafted title from every genre.
