A pretty unique game as games go that are set in the Warhammer 40k universe, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada takes to the interstellar void and looks pretty freaking amazing doing it.
I have to admit, I smiled pretty wide when I saw those two ships clank into one another. That’s not something that you see in a strategy title too often, unless it’s scripted and I don’t think that was. The game is looking sharp all around though, with some interesting looking (and sounding) mechanics and nice graphics.
We also get a good look at the demonic forces of Chaos in this trailer, and they’re unsurprisingly pretty awesome. Chaos, led by Abbaddon the Despoiler, makes up the main opposition in the campaign for Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, and so you’ll find a full compliment of enemy units ready to assault your fleet.
You’re definitely going to need to upgrade your ships to take them on, and so it’s a good thing that that’s very possible in the game, along with unlocking even more cool stuff that no doubt will be of interest to the more stalwart of the Games Workshop fans out there.
Looking great so far, and there’s still a ways to go as Battlefleet Gothic: Armada isn’t scheduled to hit the PC till 2016.
