LEGO Marvel’s Avengers delayed into 2016

There shall be no avenging till the new year, as LEGO Marvel’s Avengers has slipped into 2016.

Expected to hit consoles this Holiday season, it’s now been made official by Warner Bros that the Avengers latest LEGO outing won’t arrive till January 29th, 2016. No real reason was given for the delay of game, though it’s worth noting that LEGO Dimensions also is hitting really soon, and has a series of expansion packs set to arrive not only at launch, but for a while afterwards.

It could easily be that Warners simply wanted some alone-time for the game, before yet another LEGO launch would interfere. That might split the fanbase, especially since Dimensions doesn’t have any Marvel characters on its roster.

Warner Bros owns DC Comics, just in case you didn’t know, and it might be a little bit of wishful thinking to consider that Dimensions might get Marvel characters at some point. Still though, weirder things have definitely happened, and there has already been one LEGO Marvel game. So you never know.

As of right now though, LEGO Marvel’s Avengers is the sole building-block platformer that’s scheduled to house the guys and gals from the House of Ideas, and you’ll be waiting till after the Holidays to play it.
