The Vermintide is coming, and this trailer seen at E3 last week has plenty of Skaven to hack’n slash.
In Vermintide, the city of Ubersreik is under siege as players select from a band of five heroes with different play-styles and abilities, all equipped with unique gear and personalities. Working together cooperatively, players must use their individual attributes to survive an apocalyptic invasion from hordes of relentless, power hungry Skaven, across a range of environments stretching from the top of the Magnus Tower to the bowels of the Under Empire.
Lots of promise in this one, which not only features the rarely seen (in gaming) Warhammer license from tabletop gaming company Games Workshop, but also is an FPS. Developer FatShark’s title is pretty much the only ‘medieval fantasy’ first-person title left heading to shelves since the cancellation of Hellraid, so cross your fingers. As a big fan of Heretic/Hexen back in the 90s I’m cautiously optimistic, though Vermintide is looking pretty sharp indeed.
Seen in the footage above is the Dwarven Ranger character class, which certainly looks rough and tumble aplenty, with both blades and guns at his side. You can find out more about the newest announced class here on the official blog for the game.
As to when you can expect Warhammer: End Times Vermintide to arrive at retail, there’s no release date as of yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
