Call of Duty is switching sides; premiering DLC on the Xbox platform for a few years now, one of the most popular shooters in existence will instead be offering PlayStation gamers the chance to download first.
First- that was a pretty nice little look at the series’ new multiplayer matches. Black Ops III offers a few new innovations in the arena too, like a continuance of movement that should allow players to move through the game’s environments much easier than ever before. Activision says that the maps have all been designed to “push head-to-head” action this time around too, so all that new movement should come in handy as you’ll be in for a fight here.
You’ll also have the option to play as nine new specialists. These characters will each have their own “look, personality, abilities, and level progression system”, which sounds kind of awesome. And you can equip each with up to five attachments (plus optic) and then go one step further with the new Gunsmith, where you can give your weapon a specific paint job. Lots of customization there, but take note that some of this stuff won’t carry over to the last-gen editions of the game.
Second- all you PS4 and PS3 gamers out there will get to play the newest maps first. No more waiting for the packs to hit the Xbox first, now the tables have turned and you’ll be getting a little advance play time.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III blasts onto consoles on the “new Black Friday”, November 6th.
