Centered around the re-launch of Rockstar Games’ crime epic on the Xbox One and PS4, the company has two pretty impressive little packs of tunes on the way.
Vinyl is seriously starting to make a comeback. Stores now carry albums much more regularly than in the past few decades, and Rockstar has taken note and will release the soundtrack to Grand Theft Auto 5 on both CD and vinyl, courtesy of Mass Appeal Records. As usual too, this is one packed collection of music with 59 tracks of tunes from the game.
Fans can expect to hear music from the likes of “A$AP Rocky, Tyler, The Creator, Twin Shadow, Wavves, Flying Lotus, Yeasayer and more”, plus the original score of the game itself, which was put together by “Tangerine Dream, Woody Jackson, The Alchemist + Oh No, (and) mixed by DJ Shadow”.
The vinyl set is scheduled to ship with six (multicolored) records, as well as a full-color booklet and an exclusive lithograph. As for the CD set, that’s no slouch either and will include three CD’s, artwork and a poster from the game, and a USB drive shaped into a good brick. Only 5000 copies of the GTAV OST will be made and you can expect to see them hitting record stores and online retailers on December 8th.
As for GTAV itself, that’s available now for the PS3 and Xbox 360 (catch our review here) and will be hitting the Xbox One and PS4 on November 18th, with a PC edition coming in early 2015.
