Here’s over a half-hour of Witcher 3: Wild Hunt gameplay for your evening viewing

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is pretty obviously one of the most anticipated games of 2015, and made one of the biggest splashes at this past Gamescom show last week. And here we’ve got a meaty 37 minutes of gameplay for you to check out, so you can see what all the fuss is about.

Aside from the main quest, which looks as varied and deep as you might expect from past Witcher games, the first thing that has to hit you as you watch the above is just how incredible the graphics and scope of the world are.

Every point in the ‘trailer’ can be traveled to and explored. We’ve seen things like that in RPG’s before, but it’s just so much better looking here in The Witcher 3, which truly has the feel of a next generation action/RPG. It’s also kind of interesting that not all monsters and supernatural creatures in the game will be ‘bad’ really. Johnny was a pretty amiable little godling after all. Oh, and that battle music was just this side of awesome.

Impressive stuff all around, and I’m not the only one who thinks so. Some 15 thousand fans saw the demo live at the Gamescom show in Germany, along with over a thousand of my fellow game journo’s. A total of 12 thousand t-shirts were handed out at the show too (I didn’t get one!!), and a massive 150 awards have so far been collected by the game. Now that’s major.

This is hands-down one of the biggest games of 2105. Speaking of, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is scheduled to hit the PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on February 24th, 2015.
