Activision reveals Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s multiplayer modes

Announced last week during Gamescom, Activision has given gamers a peek into what they can expect from Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s multiplayer modes. Spoiler: It looks nothing like any CoD that you’ve played before.

Unless you’re a straight-up CoD ‘hater’, there isn’t much to dislike about that. Science fiction meets military shooter in this one, and that theme carries right across to the series’ much loved multiplayer modes with more sci-fi gadgets and armaments than you could shake a digitized Kevin Spacey at.

Simply put, it looks pretty incredible and, though we have yet to actually play it, the team at Sledgehammer Games looks to have knocked one out of the park with it. That would be a very nice thing indeed as the franchise has gotten a little long in the tooth and definitely started showing its age over the last few years. Whereas some of the latest revisions went half-way on it though, Advanced Warfare goes all out with the high-tech, futuristic elements and really looks to make a truly different Call of Duty experience.

Also announced was yet another pre-order incentive, which is early access to the game. In addition to the Bullet Brass exoskeleton, EM1 quantum directed energy weapon, AK-12G assault rifle, and the crossbow-B2 that you’ll get for plunking your cash down early, you’ll also get Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare a full day before everybody who doesn’t pre-order. So you can get a head start on the campaign and begin crafting your multiplayer madman or woman a tad before most other players. Any advantage is a good advantage right?

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare launches for the PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, and PS3 on November 3rd.
