Grey Goo, the new RTS from Petroglyph and Grey Box, is all about a shapeless mass of nanobots that’s got more than a few tricks up its slimy sleeves.
We’ve been watching Grey Goo for a while now, and the game is really shaping up into something special. Part of what’s really looking like a resurgence for the classic real-time strategy genre, Grey Goo pits three factions against one another, one of which is the title glop.
The more than a little disgusting Goo can basically roll over anything and actually consume enemy units, a feat that was very impressive indeed to watch in the video above, and a horrifying thought for anyone playing against them in a multiplayer match. As you can see, besting the Goo can be a tough proposition indeed.
As an old school RTS player myself, who’s not played one in a long time, I’m intrigued by the old-meets-new style that Grey Box is going for here with Grey Goo. If you’re an armchair general, this is one to watch out for.
