Nintendo figurines to be compatible with Super Smash Bros on Wii U

Well, that didn’t take long. It looks like the recently announced toys will be figured into the upcoming edition of the Nintendo fighting game franchise.

Website CVG is reporting that the new figures, which haven’t really even been detailed in a great way yet, will feature in the new Super Smash Bros title for the Wii U. Talking with Nintendo of France managing director Stephan Bole, the site uncovered what Nintendo’s planning with the game/toys as Bole said plainly that “The NFC will be used in the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros.” Pretty cut and dry right there if you ask us.

Honestly, it’s a very smart decision if that is indeed the way that they’re going to introduce the figures. Smash Bros is a hugely popular franchise already and adding in the new toy element should get even bigger profits out of the title. And that’s something that Nintendo could use in spades right now.

As for Nintendo, they’ve officially decided not to say to much more and have basically chosen not to comment.
