Netherrealm’s mobile fighter gets a brand new multiplayer mode with Team Battle for its birthday.
As touchscreen fighters go, Injustice: Gods Among Us was incredibly well received and actually was a lot of fun to play. The game, unlike its fully featured console cousin, features simple swipe controls that allow you to do battle with the assortment of DC Comics characters that make up its roster.
The new multiplayer mode allows gamers to actually assemble teams of heroes and villains and then pit those groups against other player’s squads. The second player’s team is controlled by AI with the winning squad being awarded points, whether they’re in control of their super guys and gals or the computer is in charge. At the conclusion of each Weekly Leaderboard Season, the points are then tallied and in-game rewards are then assessed to each player.
In addition to the new mode, there’s also the new Gear and the “ability to upgrade character stats and performance”. All that is also intertwined with the Weekly Leaderboard Season though, so if you want the goods, you better be paying attention to your team.
Injustice: Gods Among Us is available now for iOS with the new update and will be updated soon on Android platforms.
