“The Art of Wolfenstein: The New Order” leads the way as a series of new artistic tomes are announced by Bethesda and Dark Horse Comics.
A total of three books will be included in this new deal between the two publishers, all of them based on more recent Bethesda titles. Wolfenstein will be followed up by “The Art of The Evil Within” (which promises to be a gruesome one) and then finally by “Dishonored: The Dunwall Archives”.
All three books will be hardcover in presentation and will be “packed with art and game design details”. Simply put, they should be heaven for fans of the games, or just those looking for a rear window into the world of designing a video game.
The Wolfenstein book was described as having over 200 pages of art and developer commentary, which is a great element to have in there to support the actual in-game designs on display within its pages. The volume “covers all facets of the game’s design, including concept art, character designs, settings and technology – all of which was inspired by Wolfenstein’s alternate 1960’s setting” according to Bethesda.
The Art of Wolfenstein: The New Order will be on shelves on May 14th at comic shops and on the 27th at bookstores. As for The Art of The Evil Within and Dishonored: The Dunwall Archives, you can expect those to hit stores in August and November respectively. Each one will cost you $39.99 USD.
