Ubisoft’s latest Assassin’s Creed title has gone gold on the PC.
If you haven’t already seen our review of the Xbox 360 version of the assassinating, piratical epic that is Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, you might want to have a look. Not only did we find that the game was a stellar adventure, but our own Mike Jones thinks it’s the best game in the series and a top contender for Game of the Year. The PC edition is set to be much the same game as the console versions, with some minor differences in how you can get it being the standouts.
Ubisoft is offering not one, not two- but three different versions of the game for PC players who will be downloading the game and an equally impressive trio of versions for those who like their PC games boxed (and happen to live in the UK).
- The Standard Edition, available at retail and on digital formats.
- The Digital Deluxe Edition, a premium edition including the game, as well as bonus in-game content featuring new locations to discover and explore, additional customization items and a new adventure starring Aveline as the main character.
- The Uplay Digital Deluxe Edition, a digital package exclusively distributed on Uplay shop including all the contents from the Deluxe Edition, plus an additional in-game pack, Pride of the West Indies. This bonus content is exclusive to the Uplay Deluxe edition, available for pre-order here: http://shop.ubi.com/ac4deluxe
The Buccaneer Edition
This premium edition offers a selection of essential physical and digital items for real adventurers:
- Premium Quality Edward of Kenway Figurine on the Jackdaw’s Crow’s Nest
- High Quality Artbook
- The Official Soundtrack
- 2 Lithographs in their protective envelope
- Collector’s Box
- Additional Unlockable In-game Content
The Skull Edition
This edition includes physical and digital content for the Assassin’s Creed enthusiast:
- Collector Jumbo Steel Case
- High Quality Artbook
- The Official Soundtrack
- 2 Lithographs in their protective envelope
- Unlockable In-game Content
The Special Edition
- This special edition will be available at the same price as the standard edition, but also includes unlockable in-game content only available at game launch.
The Standard Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition are both available in a digital PC download format. Players who pre-order the PC download version of these editions will get additional in-game bonus content. The Uplay Digital Deluxe Edition is only available in digital format and exclusively distributed on Uplay Shop.
There’s also a Season Pass for ACIV that’ll net you all the content from the upcoming DLC calendar for the game, which will run through March of next year. That’s actually on sale right now too if you’d like to buy in early- you can grab it on the Ubi shop for 20% off the ticket.
Also on sale is the game itself, or more accurately the Uplay Digital Deluxe Edition is on sale. This version can only be bought and downloaded from the Uplay shop, but doing so will get you 25% off, which ain’t too shabby by any swashbuckler’s account.
Look for all these versions of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag to be available for the PC on November 22nd in the UK and on the
