EA’s latest Need for Speed title shows of AllDrive- a feature that blends singleplayer with multiplay in some interesting new ways.
AllDrive seamlessly blends Singleplayer and Multiplayer creating an entirely new experience only available in Need for Speed Rivals. Starting in a single-player event, players can crash in-progress events with friends, then spontaneously confront Rival racers to risk their Speed Points in the ultimate racing experience. But, keep a lookout, players can also team-up as the police force to bust anyone in their path.
I love the idea that a singleplayer game can basically transform into a multiplayer one on the fly like that. Injecting that kind of spontaneity into a racer sounds like a terrific idea and melding multi and single play into one entity is probably an idea who’s time has come- especially with high-speed internet connectivity becoming more and more common and the next generation of consoles getting more net-friendly than ever.
Look for Need for Speed Rivals to pull into the Xbox 360, PS3/4, Wii U and PC’s garages on November 19th with the Xbox One version launching with the console on the 22nd.
