Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse Now has hit GOG.com. Technically a racing game, there’s a lot more to this classic than driving around a track. Like hitting people.
Carmageddon 2 has an improved physics engine than the first game in the series (which was already a fan favorite), deformable cars, gore-aplenty and some of the biggest crashes in racing. The game also features a soundtrack by Iron Maiden and got all kinds of accolades when it first debuted on the PC in 1998. For a racer, it’s also a pretty ‘open’ title, meaning you can choose between the actual racing or just causing as much chaos as you want.
With a new game in the series coming soon (thanks to a successful Kickstarter), now’s a great time to grab C2 or the original to sharpen your running-over skill set. I mean racing skill set. Totally meant racing. Both titles are available on GOG.com and even better, Carmageddon (the first one) is currently being given away on Reddit to the first 50,000 folks to respond.
You can get in on that here or pick up a GOG copy of Carmegeddon 2: Carpocalypse Now here.
