Classic R/C racer Re-Volt makes a comeback 15 years after it’s batteries ran dry.
I love a good R/C racer, but to say that they’re few and far between is probably an overstatement. The sub-genre isn’t something that even gets anywhere near what you could call a decent representation in modern gaming. It’s particularly neat then, that GOG.com has resuscitated the classic R/C title Re-Volt.
If you’re not familiar with Re-Volt, it’s a game that still sees support from fans even though there hasn’t been a release in the series in about 15 years. New tracks, cars and more are all out there courtesy of a modding community that still hasn’t given up on the classic title. For the base game experience though, it’s pretty simple.
You have an R/C car, it’s loaded with weaponry and you race around in some pretty nutty arenas. All this sounds pretty fantastic, but even with all the embellishments, the car physics are solid and actually mimic real world car physics. Well… tiny car physics anyway.
You can grab Re-Volt right now on GOG.com for $5.99 USD right now.
