Masahiro Sakurai has confirmed via Twitter that the next the next Super Smash Bros will be revealed on Nintendo Direct, June 11th.
Footage of the game itself will also appear on the Nintendo Direct, and will be shown worldwide. No word yet on whether there will be another Super Smash Bros Dojo for the next Smash game. For Super Smash Bros Brawl, the rate at which Sakurai was revealing it to the public was gradual. He released a small amount of details periodically, giving fans something to look forward to while they anxiously waited for the next exciting installment to the franchise. Whether history will repeat itself is unknown, but knowing Sakurai he will most likely have something fun and interesting planned for players in moments leading up to the actual release of the game itself.
The next Super Smash Bros will be released for both Wii U and 3DS. The game is said to be different for both platforms, with the 3DS version being more single player oriented, and the Wii U version stressing multiplayer gameplay more so than its handheld brother. Keep your eyes peeled for more information regarding this title in the weeks to come. There’s sure to be a wealth of details on it this E3.
Perfect, this is what Nintendo needs to focus on at E3 (or not E3, depending on how you look at it) – as many first party games as it can fit in the presentation.
Yeah, I’m hoping we’ll see Monolith Soft’s X on the Nintendo Direct as well. I’m really excited for this year’s E3. Assuming I can one day afford a Wii U, I’ll be quite a happy man.
I have to admit I thought the idea of a Nintendo Direct instead of a conference at E3 was as bad as ideas get, and while I kind of still do, I’m really looking forward to seeing what they’ve got up their collective sleeve.
Truth be told I initially thought it was a bad idea… but after hearing about the Best Buy E3 demos, combined with a segment to appease investors, this may be the better outlet for them in the end. Kind of like the best of both worlds, if you know what I mean. By the way Jason, are there any Best Buys near you that will have the demos?
I’m not too sure. There’s a BB right near me, but I don’t know if they’re going to be doing anything in their amazing shrinking game department.
Anything around your way Chris?
Yes, there’s one holding the E3 games about a half an hour or so away from me. Even if it takes a bit longer than that I think it’s worth the trip. Lucky for me too, because the only other one is several hours away. They have a list of Best Buys that have E3 demos, so you can always try that. Or you can call your local Best Buy as well, that’s what I did to confirm the locations.
