GamesRadar Weekly Roundup: 15/03/2013

This week we’ve got a RadarPlays of Gears of War 1 in  honour of Judgement coming out, a look at the best gaming headsets, and a work-in-progress walkthrough for SC2: Heart of the Swarm on Brutal Difficulty.

First up is the RadarPlays of Gears 1. We all have fond memories (except me) of Gears of War. We’ve all gotten pumped from “Like The Cole Train?” “In the flesh, Baby!”. So in honour of Gears of War: Judgement heading to store shelves soon, the RadarPlays crew fired up the original and did a fun podcast/letsplay. It’s wholly entertaining, and as someone who only ever vaguely knew of/played the franchise, it was wholly entertaining to watch and listen.

I don’t know about you, but when it comes to game audio I tend to buy cheap and put the money towards the rest of the rig. But once you put some money into it though, you’ll realize how much it matters. It’s like breathing new life into all of your media. There’s a great variety of headphones for gaming (on pc/mac and console), and with so many different brands and models to choose from, it can be overwhelming to try to pick one that suits you. The guide here is pretty top notch, and I have the Steelseries 7H USB headset, which is on the list.

If you’re having as much trouble as my friends with Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm’s campaign (they’re playing on normal and easy), then this walkthrough will help. It’s written to beat the game on Brutal, but it all still applies. It’s got screenshots  and tips on how to get past the difficult parts. Definitely worth a look.

About Daniel Spiler

From the frigid wasteland of Canada, Dan has been immersed in video and tabletop games since he was a small child. Then he grew up and realized he still loved all that stuff, so he spends his adult money on fun things like TCGS, Video Games, Manga, and his plethora of cats (there's like...5).
