Anarchy Reigns this January

Sega and PlatinumGames’ upcoming brawler Anarchy Reigns is all set to bludgeon in the New Year.

AR brings a bunch of characters from PlatinumGames’ stable together to duke it out in a dark future filled with mutants and other such nasties. It’s a multiplayer brawler at heart that will feature 16 player (that’s pretty great honestly) battles across multiple game modes like Battle Royal and Survival.

“Focusing on online play with Anarchy Reigns presented a new challenge for us here at PlatinumGames,” added Atsushi Inaba, Executive Director/Producer at Platinum Games. “Very few games fall under its genre of a melee-based online multiplayer brawler, so I think we’ve been able to supply a new kind of excitement that you can’t find anywhere else. While some time has passed since its Japan release, I look forward to having gamers in North America and Europe enjoy the Anarchy!”

“Melee-based online multiplayer brawler”… I can’t think of one game in that genre. Actually, I don’t even think that is a genre- is it?

In any event, it is now. Or at least it will when Anarchy Reigns goes on sale January 8th for the PS3 and January 11th for the Xbox 360- for the low, low discount price of $29.99 USD.
