New Power Rangers fighting game on the way

A new Power Rangers fighter is coming up for consoles and the PC. Battle for the Grid will be digital-only, and offer cross-platform fighting action.

Go go

Well Hasbro didn’t waste any time with this one. And, dare I say it, it actually looks kind of neat. If you don’t know, the toy-giant recently acquired the Power Rangers brand, adding it to their impressive catalog of IP’s.

One of their first moves looks to be this game, Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid from developer nWay. And dare is say, it’s looking solid.

Power Ranger: Battle for the Grid is an easy to learn but hard to master fighting game that delivers a modern take on the Power Rangers franchise. The game features stunning graphics with vivid details and pits new and classic Rangers and villains against each other in team battles. Featuring a streamlined combat system, the game welcomes newcomers to the genre with simplified controls, while maintaining depth and detail for more intense and experienced competitors. Players will be challenged to test their skills online against friends and other players around the world, providing endless replayability. With new content and game modes releasing throughout the year, the game will continuously offer the community new ways to play and compete.

Battle for the Grid press release

Oh, and did someone say “cross-platform”? That’s right, Battle for the Grid is set to offer the chance to play against gamers, no matter the platform they’re playing on. Well, almost.

Still being their annoying selves, Sony will once again be sitting out that aspect of head-to-head play. But if you’re playing on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, or PC, you’re down for the cross-plat shenanigans.

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is set to be delivered in two versions. There’s a standard version for $19.99 USD, and then also a Digital Collector’s Edition.

That’ll be $39.99 and include:

  • full game download
  • Season One Pass (which will include three new characters, their Arcade story, and a new warrior skin)
  • exclusive Lord Drakkon Evo II and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Pink Ranger character skins.

There’s no release date for either edition as of yet, but stay tuned. We’ll have more in the coming weeks.
