Check out Artgerm’s knockout variant Fantastic Four covers for FF #1

The Fantastic Four are back, or they soon will be, in Marvel’s comic book universe. To celebrate, the publisher has a whole mess of variants on the way.

Fantastic!

Wow are these some awesome pieces. They’re so good, I might actually go out for all of them, and this is from someone who’s not really into variants at all.

If you don’t know by the way, Artgerm is a “who”, not a “what”. He’s an artist who’s definitely flown under my radar, but he’s done a bunch of high-profile projects. Actually named Stanley Lau, Artgerm has done work for DC, Capcom (Street Fighter), and of course Marvel.

I’ve since looked up a few of his illustrations, and he’s impressive. These though, are something else.

The four variants above will adorn the actual Fantastic Four #1 issue. There will be others however. But those will be variants for other Marvel books landing in stores the same month that FF #1 hits. Some of those are pretty great looking too, and you can check out some samples here.

As for when all of this Fantastic Four merriment will take place, that’d be this coming August. Expect to see Fantastic Four #1 hitting the stands then, on August the 8th.
