LEGO makes Simpsons sets official, announces deal with Fox

Homer, Bart and the rest of the Simpsons clan get bricked with LEGO.

Well this has to be one of the coolest things that LEGO has ever cast in brick.

The set, which recreates the Simpsons classic residence, is just about as complete a double for the house as you could imagine building with the world’s most popular building bricks. Every room in the house as featured in the show is also included here- right down to the garage and that fabulous pink car. As far as mini-figures, this set isn’t exactly lacking either as you’ll find the entire family included along with the ever-aggravating Ned Flanders.

As a part of the deal that was just signed between 20th Century Fox and LEGO, this set will be joined with a series of not yet detailed mini-figures based on the show and a special LEGO episode of The Simpsons. A total of 16  mini-figures (which might be blind-bagged, if history is any indication) will hit retail stores shortly after the set arrives. The minis will be available in May, but you won’t have to wait quite that long for the house itself- that’ll be in LEGO stores and LEGO’s online storefront starting next month.

The LEGO The Simpsons episode is also set to air in conjunction with the mini-figure series this coming May. There are no details as of yet as to what the episode might entail, but here in the 25th anniversary year for the property Fox is pulling out all the stops- it’ll be one to watch for, for both The Simpsons and LEGO fans.
