Kalimba stacking up on Xbox One next month

Formerly known as Project Totem, developer Play’s Kalimba looks like a pretty inventive platformer.

Now that looks like a challenge. Kalimba’s unique take on platforming and multiple characters per player certainly seems like it’d make for some interesting situations and very different play mechanics. You might know Play from their terrific title Max: Curse of Brotherhood, which debuted on the Xbox last year. That was another game that sort of pushed what a platformer was and married the ideas of the traditional genre conventions and puzzle mechanics to make something that was all together different.

Kalimba looks like it might be doing the same (but in different ways of course) and that’d be a very good thing for fans of running and jumping, who happen to like a little puzzle solving as well. Look for Kalimba on the Xbox One (via Xbox Live) on December 17th.
