The final film in the Mission: Impossible series is coming to theaters this summer, and we just got another sneak peek.
It’s all come to this
Is Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning the last in the long-running series, or is it a transition to something new? Star Tom Cruise has pretty much confirmed the former, but we still can’t help but think that that Paramount Pictures won’t be boxing up M:I any time soon. Either way though, we’ll find out soon, as the movie is set to debut in theaters this May.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning comes on the heels of 2023’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, and was originally meant to be a ‘part two’. For those who don’t know though, the older flick didn’t perform the way that most thought. That seems like an odd thing to say when it garnered over half a billion dollars (US) globally, but it’s also somewhat understandable, since its run was more or less overshadowed by other flicks.
Enter The Final Reckoning, a part two without being a part two (we’re guessing), and a movie that definitely looks like it’ll be bringing the arc of Cruise’s super-operative Ethan Hunt to a close. We got another tease of just that, at yesterday’s “big game”, with a commercial that briefly showed another gaggle of the impressive action scenes that the films are known for.
Check that out below.

Paramount Pictures press release
Are you pumped for another, and possibly the final, Mission: Impossible? We have to say that we are, since then series has never really disappointed to deliver on sheer spectacle. Well, that and we’re always up for a straight-up, big budget action movie in an age where most of the major ones still seem to be of the ‘comic book’ variety.
From director Christopher McQuarrie, and starring Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby and more, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning debuts in theaters this May the 23rd.
