Comedic FPS High on Life land on PlayStation Plus

If you’re a PS+ subscriber who’s looking for some winter fun, you might want to check out Squanch Games’ High on Life.

Have talking gun, will travel

Remember Squanch Games’ High on Life? Released back in 2022, the “eccentric first-person shooter” debuted as a smash hit on Steam. The title landed at number one before also becoming the biggest Xbox Game Pass title of the same year.

According to Squanch, it’s the “largest 3rd Party Launch in Game Pass history, and the biggest single-player launch ever on Game Pass”. That’s honestly pretty darn impressive, given the number of huge games on Microsoft’s play-all-you-want service.

If you’ve been thinking of grabbing a copy, and you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, then we’ve got some good news for you. Well, actually you already saw the good news since we assume you read the headline, but just go with it for a second, because High on Life is now available as one of February 2025’s PlayStation Plus’ monthly freebies.

The next chapter of High On Life will continue to augment the title’s user base, allowing an even broader audience to engage with the zany antics of talking weapons across a thrilling set of intergalactic missions. Gamers with a PlayStation®Plus subscription will now enjoy the weird and wacky worlds of High On Life, much of which has its players taking part in the following:

Rescuing and teaming up with charismatic, talking guns to become the deadliest intergalactic bounty hunter the cosmos has ever seen.

Navigating dynamic and changing worlds that range from a jungle paradise, to a city built inside an asteroid, the hub of the cosmos.

Leveraging the unique skills of each gun to go up against a variety of criminals as you track down the nefarious Garmantuous and his gang of alien goons.

Completing hunter challenges, meeting weird, fun and hilarious characters, collecting an array of alien technology, and more!

If you do grab that download and like what you play, then you might be interested in some additional High on Life stuff that’s out there. While the game is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, there’s also a four-issue, comic book mini-series that saw publication last year from Titan Comics. That’s not all either, as there’s also apparel, an art book (also from Titan), and even some plushies hailing from KidRobot.
