Metal Slug Tactics dated for November, bringing the Ikari Warriors

There’ll be a few long forgotten names included with Metal Slug Tactics when the game finally arrives, which’ll be next month.

Get tactical Warriors

It might be a smaller release, but one of the more interesting titles on tap this fall finally has a release date. That, of course, would be Dotemu and Leikir Studio’s Metal Slug Tactics, a turn-based and strategic take on what’s traditionally been a run ‘n’ gun series from SNK.

As those go, Metal Slug is iconic, so the translation into a new genre was bound to be a little touchy. As it happens though, everything that we’ve seen so far on the title has been pretty darn slick, and it just got even cooler with word that the Ikari Warriors will be included.

Yep, another of SNK’s big (and forgotten) action properties, Ikari Warriors’ Clark, Ralph, and Leona will be playable heroes in Metal Slug Tactics, bringing a little more firepower to the battlefield.

  • Clark Still: Originally hailing from the Ikari Warriors series and previously playable in Metal Slug 6, Clark’s immense strength and wrestling experience allows this tanklike ally to relocate enemies on the map and dish out wide-reaching, status-inflicting damage.
  • Ralf Jones: Also returning for battle from the Ikari Warriors series and Metal Slug 6, Ralf is a master of short-range combat, packing devastating punches and the ability to charge at enemies head-on like a raging bull.
  • Leona Heidern: A newer addition to the Ikari Warriors, Leona is a revered fighter capable of replacing fallen enemies with decoy allies; she can distract and overwhelm enemy forces in her distinct approach to dominating the combat zone.

Dotemu press release

Now, we did mention that there’s a release date on top of the new character announcements. If you skipped the trailer above, then we’ll clue you in that Metal Slug Tactics will be arriving on November 5th, 2024. Fans can look for it to land then for the PC and Switch, plus current Xbox and PlayStation platforms.
