The biggest problem that pretty much every fan had with Star Wars Battlefront was that there were no space battles. Battlefront II is set to correct that.
Starfighter Assault
Pumped yet? If you watched that, and you’re a Star Wars fan then you kind of have to be. With action spread out across all the series’ timeframes, multiple vehicles to pilot, and heroes to play as (Maul!), Battlefront II is looking awesome.
EA is promising a bunch of improvements over the original game’s vehicles too. You can look forward to “superior controls, deeper customization and role-based team play featuring an all new class-based system”. Sounds very nice indeed.
You’ll be able to see all of this in action again too, and in short order. EA will have a special live presentation at Gamescom this week, broadcast on the 21st at 9:30 am pacific time. They’ll be streaming a 24 player session that will see those gamers taking to the skies on the Fondor: Imperial Shipyard map. Fighters will be the main course there of course, but you’ll also be able to see capital ships and a few heroes darting around as well.
Check that out here on EA.com. And while you’re clicking, you might also want to see what’s jumping to light speed over on EA’s Star Wars blog. They’re talking about what kind of hero characters you’ll be seeing at the Gamescom showcase.
Star Wars Battlefront II lands on consoles and the PC on November 14th.
