The master of Muay Thai is finally coming to Street Fighter 6, with Sagat leading off the third year of DLC for the fighting game.
TIGER KNEE
The former associate of M. Bison and master of the Muay Thai fighting style, Sagat was ridiculously tough in the classic Street Fighter II. And even though he’s mellowed a bit over the decades, he’s still been a bruiser in most of his appearances. So with that in mind, we’re bracing for impact when he lands for Street Fighter 6 next month.
Sagat will headline the third year of downloadable content for Capcom’s latest fighting masterpiece, but he won’t be alone. That’e because a stage called “Proud Spire” is set to arrive alongside him. And yes, before you ask, that’ll include a version with “peaceful Buddha statue in the background”.
Fans can look for Sagat to include both a new costume and his classic togs as well, though as with most other Street Fighter 6 DLC characters, Outfit 2 won’t be available right away. Instead, Sagat’s blue fighter’s trunks will have to be earned. And of course, you’ll be able to do that “by maxing out your bond with Sagat or purchased via Fighter Coins” in World Tour mode.
Here’s a look at Sagat in action:
While the giant warrior’s moveset should be familiar to most fans at its core, there are a few new additions for SF6. Here’s his full spacial move and Super Art list, for you to peruse:
- High Tiger Shot: Fire a ki blast forward to hit standing opponents, with the blast fired at different speeds depending on the button being pressed
- Low Tiger Shot: Fire a ki blast forward that can hit crouching opponents. Use both fireballs to keep opponents guessing!
- Tiger Uppercut: A powerful anti-air attack which the heavy version can be held down to send opponents flying
- Tiger Knee Crush: Leap forward and catch opponents off guard with a powerful knee attack
- Tiger Nexus: A brand new special move where Sagat strikes with his knee and can then be followed up with three different kicks – Mighty Tiger, Greedy Tiger, or Nova Tiger
- Tiger Cannon: Sagat’s Level 1 Super Art, where he fires a mighty Tiger Shot
- Savage Tiger: Sagat’s Level 2 Super Art, where after Sagat leaps forward, this Super Art can be followed up with four moves.
- Savage Tiger Raid: The highest damage of all the options
- Savage Tiger Zenith: Launches the opponent in the air and can be followed up with more attacks
- Savage Tiger Pendulum: Allows Sagat to switch places with his opponent
- Savage Tiger Stomp: Leaves Sagat close to the enemy, allowing for better “oki”
- Tiger Vanquisher: Sagat’s Level 3 Super Art unleashes all of his power in a series of devastating kicks and a beastly uppercut
Capcom press release
Sagat will launch for Street Fighter 6 on August 5th, and be followed by C. Viper this fall. The DLC doesn’t stop there though, as 2026 will bring Alex and Ingrid, who’ll be arriving in early and late spring, respectively.
