One World Under Doom #8 begins the ultimate battle for control of the Marvel Universe

Doctor Doom on his heels? Yeah, maybe, but Marvel is priming One World Under Doom #8 to be the beginning of a cataclysmic battle.

For the better part of the year, One World Under Doom has consumed the Marvel Universe. The publisher’s lineup of titles has played into the event series, crossing over and revealing that a world-conquering Doctor Doom who holds the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme is anything but easy to take out. Still, as every comics event does, this one has an ending, and it’s apparently set to begin with October’s One World Under Doom #8.

The issue will see all the major teams of the Marvel U taking aim at knocking off the Doc, including the Avengers, X-Men, and of course the Fantastic Four. There’s some major gambit that the heroes are preparing too, though it’ll be met by one from Doom himself, one that Marvel says will combine both of his vaunted skill-sets, meaning magic and technology.

October’s books under the banner will be led by October 1st’s Red Hulk #9, whcih will be followed by One World Under Doom #8 (of 9) on the 15th, and finally Runaways #5 (of 5), which caps things off on the 29th.
