Cosmic horror title Stygian: Outer Gods went live on Steam Early Access last month, and it’s already set to ramp up the madness.
Updates ahoy
By now you know the deal with Early Access. Available via a few platforms, games making use of the denotation are able to launch under it without being what you’d call ‘complete’. The idea being that fans can get hands-on time with said titles, and actually provide feedback to the developers as to what works and what doesn’t.
Fulqrum Publishing and Misterial Games’ Stygian: Outer Gods is one such example. The Lovecraftian action/horror title hit Early Access (on the PC) last month, and with a few weeks under the game’s cosmic belt, Fulqrum’s ready to start talking about what’s to come. From the looks of it, there’s quite a bit on tap.
Before it hits full retail, Stygian: Outer Gods will welcome a pair of new locations in “the otherworldly House of Mists with its surrounding area and the mysterious Brasko family Mansion along with its estate”, according to the publisher. Naturally, both locals will have their own puzzles and quests, but they’ll also be packed with “new intriguing characters”, and “deadly enemies”.
Speaking of both of those elements too, the press release mentions that more are on the way in general. Players can look for “new characters and monsters, new quests, and new artifacts, items, and weapons – including the much-requested Tommy gun”, to all be coming up along with the addition of more vocal talent. That content will be arriving alongside what you might expect to see from the technical side too, with additional optimization, balancing, and localization all inbound.
That’s not even mentioning the stuff that won’t be ready until the game goes final either. What sounds like more of everything mentioned here is coming for Stygian: Outer Gods‘ full retail edition, plus boss fights too. Look for all of that at a later date, when the game arrives for the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
