Believe it or not, it’s been a half decade since players were able to battle across Call of Duty: Warzone‘s Verdansk map.
Care for a ‘dansk?
Released on March 10th back in 2020, Call of Duty: Warzone delivered something that players hadn’t seen from the franchise before. By way of its Vardansk map, that would translate to a more massively-multiplayer, ‘battle royale’ approach than ever before, as the free-to-play spinoff delivered open-map action, albeit in the CoD mold.
Since then, some 125 million players have engaged with Warzone and its continuing series of revisions, including new maps and fresh action, delivered with each yearly Call of Duty launch. Here we are five years after the fact though, and the original is coming back around again for a celebratory run.
Yep, Verdansk is returning, and will be ready to roll with Season 03 on April 3rd.
While it does seem that things will be more or less as you remember them in Verdansk, publisher Activision says this won’t be exactly the same map that you played five years back. According to the press release, there’ll be “drop zones and familiar terrain”, but also “new updates to explore”.
Just what those “new updates” might include is a mystery at present, though the map’s relaunch isn’t all that far off. So, bottom line, we expect to see some updates with much more info sooner than later. And when it drops in, we’ll have it for you here.
