AEW superstar Samoa Joe takes the spotlight in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii’s new trailer

Pro-wrestler Samoa Joe is Pirate King Raymond Law, a man who seems like he could be ally or enemy in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.

Samoooaaaaaaaa JOE

If you’re a pro-wrestling fan, you might know Samoa Joe best as one of the meanest grapplers in the squared circle. With a career that’s spanned over two decades, Joe is a skilled technical wrestler and submission machine, who currently wrestles with AEW. But as impressive as that might be, it’s also far from all he does.

On top of wrestling, Joe is also no stranger to television, and has both appeared in live-action and lent his voice to animated roles. Most recently, he’s starred as the physical embodiment of Twisted Metal’s Sweet Tooth, in the Peacock streaming series of the same name. And now he’s a pirate. Or, to be more accurate, he’s a Pirate King.

Joe’s vocals and appearance will be found in Sega’s Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, as he becomes Raymond Law.

As you can see there, along with Law’s introduction, fans of the long-lived Yakuza series also get a taste of the upcoming game’s story. One interesting note too, was included in the press release, and it pertains to the voice cast. Obviously, Samoa Joe is a member of that, but his role and the roles of the entire English language cast will apparently be added in via a patch at launch. That’s not a terrible thing, but we found it interesting nonetheless.

You’ll be able to play Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii (and hit that download) very soon too. The title is scheduled to arrive for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam) this month, on February 25th. Pre-orders are of course still open, and grabbing one will net players Ichiban Kasuga and Nancy for their crews, plus get them access to “two of Ichiban Kasuga’s iconic outfits” for Majima to wear.
