Decked out in head-spikes and with a crimson color scheme, Hot Toys‘ Mandalorian Super Commando Captain has a fresh unboxing.
Captain spike
As Star Wars‘ Mandalorian warriors go, the Super Commandos cast a particularly striking image. It’s one that was forged in the episodic animated show, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and was made to reflect the look of the former Sith Lord, Darth Maul.
The reinvigorated Maul laid claim to the throne of Mandalore at the close of The Clone Wars, and commanded a sizable force of Mandalorians as a result. As it happened, the Super Commandos adopted a look that was similar to their new ruler.
The look of the Mandalorian Super Commando remains pretty darn slick, and that includes the force’s Captain, which is the subject of Hot Toys upcoming 12″ collector figure. The Mandalorian Super Commando Captain is actually pulled from the recent Star Wars: Ahsoka TV show, so it bears a more realistic look, as opposed to the character’s previous animated appearances.
