As usual, NECA had a great display st New York Comic Con last weekend, including plenty of new Ninja Turtles figures.
Welcome back
Does NECA ever have a bad Con? It kind of seems like the action figure-maker never does, as NECA always brings plenty of new figures to display. And those figures are a mix of some of the biggest and coolest licenses in pop culture too, with movies, comics, and TV all included. Heck, NECA even includes stuff like the Ben Cooper figures, giving fans unique stuff to look at that you just wouldn’t see from most other companies.
This year included all of the above, including a truly stellar assortment of Turtles. That’s pretty darn impressive given the length of time that NECA has had, and has been running with, the license. NYCC ’24 brought more animated figures, more Mirage figures, and yes, more Archie-themed figures too. All in all, it’s tough to name a highlight, because they were pretty much all highlights.
If we have to though, we’re going to say the Archie Shredder, Mirage April and Leatherhead, and that Tattoo and Wyrm 2 pack.
Horror and more
While TMNT is still pretty much NECA’s biggest and deepest property, the company still rocks when it comes to horror stuff. This year saw a ton of Beetlejuice figures arrive, plus some terrific Universal Monsters, lots of Ben Cooper, Nightmare Before Christmas, and even continuations of the Alf and Pee-Wee Herman lines.
