Mondo Gecko and Mona Lisa join the cast of TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge

One of the best beat ’em ups in years, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge has some new guest stars.

We always like nice little surprises when it comes to our favorite games here at BG, and this piece of news definitely counts. Dotemu and and Tribute Games’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge just got a drop of new downloadable content called the Radical Reptiles pack.

Included in that DLC, which will cost owners of the base game $3.99 USD, are two classic TMNT characters, with Mondo Gecko and Mona Lisa. Both characters are fan favorites, with Mondo appearing in almost every version of TMNT lore.

Radical Reptiles sees a gnarly duo tag into the fray: Mondo Gecko, a radical surfer and trusty friend to the Turtles who dashes around while dealing righteous damage with his skateboard, and Mona Lisa, a physics student turned reptilian rapscallion who dishes out wickedly cool attacks by lobbing her chemical concoctions as projectiles. Both Mondo Gecko and Mona Lisa previously appeared in the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles TV show (which in turn, inspired Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge), making Radical Reptiles their playable debut in a beat-em-up video game and a long-awaited reunion with the gang.

But wait, there’s more

The above DLC is out right now for all versions of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, but it’s not the only arrival today. On top of the paid stuff, there’s also a free drop, which adds in some new tunes, in the form of remixes.
