If you missed it, here’s the first look at Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

Revealed last weekend, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is about to take the sub-series into a new decade of conspiracy, the 1990s.

Firestarter

While we haven’t really seen it referred to as such all that often, the 90s were quite the age for conspiracies. Real-world theories were getting hotter, and that was reflected in the realms of movies and TV, with plenty of films and shows taking advantage of the zeitgeist. That’s exactly where the next game in the Call of Duty series will be heading too, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, so you can imagine some of the themes that’ll be present.

Options abound, but the tale at the core of this new action epic will be one of infiltration. In Black Ops 6, the agency itself has been turned-over, and its field agents are being hunted down. Of course, that means that the cast, which features both new and returning characters, will be rogue.

Along with the campaign look that you see above, we also got a full deep dive into the multiplayer. Yep, this year fans got looks at both ends of the Black Ops 6 experience at once, and there are some very interesting new mechanics that’ll be at work. Chiefly among those, are Omnimovement and Intelligent Movement.

Two new “innovations” at play in the game, Omnimovement and Intelligent Movement work together to change how characters will move and engage in combat. It also sounds like Activision might’ve learned a thing or two from Modern Warfare 3’s release in 2023, as the publisher is promising a “massive amount of Multiplayer content at launch”.

If you want to take that dive into all of the above and more, you can check out the full replay of the original broadcast here. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is expected to launch for consoles and the PC later this year.
