Shines Over: The Damned delivers a dark and haunting world to PS5 this month

Nowhere on our radar, but looking fantastic, is the upcoming Shines Over: The Damned. From publisher/developer Firenut Games, this new dark tale of terror is aiming to engulf players in a world that twists their own perceptions, and tasks them with solving environmental-puzzles.

Now, if you’re wondering, the above means that Shines Over isn’t an action game whatsoever. The press release goes out of its way to flatly say that players won’t have weapons to fight off the horrors that go bump in the night. But that’s not to say it doesn’t sound compelling, as Firenut says it’ll be offering plenty of “jumpscares”, high-tension, and a “dark and oppressive world with an atmosphere of terror”.

And since that’s the case, it’s a good thing that you’ll have your dog.

You have no name, no weapons. There are no friends to protect you. You are alone except for your faithful dog, who will guide you through this dark world and stay by your side.
