As season 2 hits Disney+, Loki’s original run gets a physical Steelbook release

The god of mischief is back, and it’s not just with Loki season 2. The first season of the Disney+ show is back on disc.

As time rolls on, more and more people are seemingly getting back into physical media. That’s pretty amazing when you think about it, since it wasn’t all that long ago that fans wholeheartedly embraced having their movies and TV classics either streaming or for digital purchase. But if you’ve got that disc-based copy of whatever it is that you enjoy, it’s not going anywhere. And you definitely can’t say that about the digital realm.

Disney is a part of the format’s rebirth (if you want to call it that), and is bringing its slate of Disney+ streaming shows to physical formats. The latest of those to make the jump is the first season of Loki, which arrives today in both 4K Ultra HD Steelbook and Blu-ray Steelbook.

If you need a recap, season one picked up right from Avengers: Endgame, and brought actor Tom Hiddleston’s Loki on a trip through reality. Finding himself on the fringes of the multiverse and existing outside of time itself, Loki met Mobius (Owen Wilson), and a few versions of himself too.

Along with the actual show, the new disc versions of Loki also include a collection of bonuses. Those run the gamut from gag reels to deleted scenes, and include:

• Designing the TVA – Step into the incredible set of Loki Season 1 with Production Designer, Kasra Farahani, and Tom Hiddleston while getting a sneak peek into Season 2.
• The Official TVA Orientation Video – Miss Minutes explains the inner workings of the TVA timeline in her orientation video.
• Gag Reel – Take a look at some of the fun outtakes on set with the cast and crew of Loki Season 1.
• Deleted Scene: Loki’s Coronation – Mobius reviews some moments from Loki’s timeline, in which Frog Thor makes an appearance during Loki’s coronation.
• Deleted Scene: The Standoff – Loki holds Sylvie hostage against the TVA in a standoff.
• Assembled: The Making of Loki – Loki explores the series centering on the MCU’s chief mischief maker.
