The Deluxe and Icon editions of WWE 2K23 ring the bell today

It’s time for Wrestlemania! Okay, maybe not Wrestlemania, as the WWE’s premier show is next month, but 2K has the next best thing in WWE 2K23.

You can’t see me

Star-studded with tons of Legends and modern superstars on its roster, plus the first ever Wargames match in wrestling game history, WWE 2K23 is here. The game launches today with both “Deluxe” and “Icon” editions, with the standard release coming up this Friday.

Here’s the launch trailer:

“With each iteration of the WWE 2K franchise, our team strives to add and improve features that players will love,” said Greg Thomas, President at Visual Concepts. “We’re very proud of the work that we’ve done on WWE 2K23 and the ‘You Can’t Beat Me’ Showcase, WarGames, enhancements to existing modes, and general look and feel of the game. It truly is ‘Even Stronger.’”

Greg Thomas, President at Visual Concepts

The host of the launch trailer, John Cena is also the star of the game’s Showcase mode. That puts players in the boots of some of Cena’s greatest foes, with the mission of knocking off the Champ across some of his biggest match losses. Pretty unique for this kind of a mode really.

And along with the Showcase, WWE 2K23 also serves up the first video game appearance of the massive Wargames match-type, as well as new additions to MyRISE, MyFACTION, and MyGM modes. That’s plus a new storyline system for the “Universe” sandbox mode, updates to the creation suite, a great-looking overhaul to the graphics, and 24 planned post-launch DLC characters (plus the pre-order exclusive Bad Bunny).

Here’s a video look at a short list of the ten biggest new additions:

Ready to rumble? WWE 2K23 is out now (Friday for Standard and Cross-Get editions) for Xbox and PlayStation platforms as well as the PC.
