Ancient mythologies pave the path through Perish’s vision of purgatory, in an adventure to blast your way (with up to 3 buddies) to Elysium.

When you look at FPS’ in general, Handygames and ITEM42’s Perish is pretty unique. Not only does it have a really slick story and setting, but it also focuses on co-op play (though it has single player as well) and also has roguelike elements.
Did I mention the “death-metal” soundtrack? Yeah, it’s got that too, and it frames what, once again, is a pretty awesome narrative. Perish sends players deep into the realm of purgatory, to face down a brutal cadre of foes “inspired by ancient mythologies”.
The goal is to sell the bodies of your fallen foes to mysterious priestesses, in exchange for more and more powerful weaponry. And in turn, you’ll use that hardware to carve your way through the afterlife and make your way to the realm of Elysium itself.
“Combining classical mythology and FPS, with multiplayer and roguelike elements forced us to push a lot of boundaries during PERISH development,” said Regan Ware, Co-Founder, ITEM42. “While we are saddened it will no longer be released on Google Stadia, players will be able to access our game from an amazing store lineup including Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.”

Perish is set to arrive for the PC (via Epic, Steam, and GOG) on February 2nd, 2023.
