NYCC 22: A trio of Star Wars droids comes to Hot Toys Masterpiece Series

Star Wars collections are about to get a fresh dose of droids, thanks to Hot Toys and the newest 1/6 scale set, starring R5-D4, Pit Droid, and BD-72.

Well these look pretty familiar

If you’re a Star Wars fan of any length of time, you should be instantly familiar with all three of the droids in this new multi-pack from Hot Toys. And that’s even if you haven’t seen The Mandalorian.

Though all of the figures in the set do hail from the Disney+ show, they also have all had a role in other Star Wars outlets. Probably the most famous of the three is A New Hope’s R5-D4, who featured in a pretty famous scene in that original trilogy. But on top of R5, you also have a Pit Droid from The Phantom Menace, and BD-72, who’s of a make that had a starring role in the video game Jedi: Fallen Order.

All three are included in the set, and look to be of the usual high standards that Hot Toys holds itself to.

Peli Motto™, the scrappy proprietor of Hangar 3-5 in the Mos Eisley™ Spaceport, has helped The Mandalorian™ and the foundling Grogu™  several times on their journeys –  with the assistance of a team of hyperactive Pit Droids and other mechanical assistants.

Hot Toys’ latest figure set enables fans to add Peli Motto’s companions to their Star Wars collection. The set, which contains ultra detailed and articulated 1/6 scale figures of R5-D4, Pit Droid, and BD-72, is available to pre-order now, via Sideshow.com.

Sideshow Toys press release

The above is currently scheduled to ship some time in the second-half of 2023, and is priced at $265 USD. Pre-orders are open right now, and you can secure one for yourself here.
