It wasn’t long ago that Star Wars was yanked from Dark Horse, but it’s back in the fold as of right now. And that’s for both graphic novels and comics.
A long time ago
So this is kind of an interesting story. A few years ago, Star Wars was pulled from publisher Dark Horse Comics, and sent to Marvel Comics. Marvel, of course, is owned by Disney who also owns the property in question. So the move made sense, even if it did ruffle some fans feathers.
Well, be that as it may, it’s now heading back to them in 2022. How and why? We’re not entirely sure, but it’s pretty huge considering. Of course, this time around it’s unlikely that Dark Horse will be returning to its previous “Expanded Universe”, and all that would entail.
Nevertheless, it’s pretty interesting. Even more so, the deal is for both graphic novels and comic books, so it might have repercussions for Marvel’s own line. The latter company is still producing Star Wars-themed books after all, so what might be happening there seems like it might be a little up in the air.
“Dark Horse has a rich history publishing Star Wars comics and graphic novels. Star Wars is near and dear to all of our hearts and I’ve been a fan since I saw the original film nineteen times during its original release. I am thrilled that Dark Horse will once again bring new stories to life from this incredible galaxy and I’m not exaggerating when I say we can’t wait to bring these new adventures to fans of every age.”
