Hotly anticipated by both classic arcade and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans, Shredder’s Revenge from Dotemu and Tribute finally has a release date.
Turtle power!
At long last, Shredder will have his revenge! Well, actually, probably not, since the Turtles are on the scene and ready to take the fight back to ild chrome dome once again. And thanks to today’s Gamescom news, now we know when that’s going to happen. (very) Roughly.
Before we get to that though, if you somehow missed the news months back, developers Dotemu and Tribute Games are bringing the TMNT IP back to its roots. And if you guessed that that means a side-scrolling action/brawler, you’re on the money.
Also revealed today, is that the green teens are getting a new fighting-friend for this fresh title. Yep, one kung-fu fightin’, mic-droppin’ April O’Neill is included and ready to brawl for the first time ever.
Inspired by the Turtles’ iconic 1987 design, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge brings New York City’s most righteous ninjas to life with gorgeous pixel art that’d look right at home in your favorite retro arcade. From showdowns with infamous rivals like Bebop and Rocksteady to returns to signature locales like Dimension X, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is a bodacious celebration of classic TMNT beat-em-ups with its own modern touches.

Now, as for that release date, well it’s not actually a “date”. It’s more of a suggestion, and one that you might’ve already guessed. Revealed this week is that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is set to land on the Switch and PC in… 2022.
